Jessie Murph shares Bad As The Rest
Jessie Murph previews new album Sex Hysteria with single Bad As The Rest | Manchester gig in October
Jessie Murph has released her new single Bad As The Rest, offering another glimpse into her forthcoming second album Sex Hysteria. The new album lands in just one week via Columbia Records. She will support the release with a major international tour, including a headline Manchester gig at Manchester Academy on Tuesday 22 October.
The new track leans into Jessie Murph’s country-trap fusion, blending bold lyricism with melodic vulnerability. Bad As The Rest reflects on the complexity of falling for someone you know isn’t good for you — a recurring thread that weaves through much of the upcoming album.
Sex Hysteria also features Blue Strips and Touch Me Like A Gangster, both recent Billboard Hot 100 entries, and collaborations with Gucci Mane (Donuts) and Lil Baby (Best Behavior). Thematically, the record marks a bold departure from the grit of her debut That Ain’t No Man, That’s The Devil, tackling sexuality, generational trauma and self-reclamation with uncompromising clarity.

On the album’s opener Gucci Mane, Murph sets the tone for a fearless, emotionally honest body of work. Visual cues nod to 1960s femme fatales, contrasting with the raw lyrical content across the album’s 15 tracks.
