Nena announces exclusive UK shows in London and Manchester this October
Nena’s first UK shows in 15 years
German pop legend Nena will perform her first UK shows in 15 years this October, with exclusive dates at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire and a Manchester gig at the O2 Ritz.
Rising to fame with the 1983 hit 99 Luftballons and its English version 99 Red Balloons, Nena has sold over 25 million records, making her the most successful German pop singer in chart history. Her live performances are renowned for their energy and emotion, backed by her 10-piece band and spanning more than four decades of music.
Speaking about the upcoming shows, Nena said: “It’s a wave of love that builds and grows stronger. I feel this with a new powerful intensity. It comes from us, the people who are here, in front of, behind, and on stage. People who love to spend a wonderful time together. Those who know that music builds bridges. We sing, dance, laugh, and celebrate life. ‘We belong together’ is a simple message that we carry out into the world together.”
The tour title, WIR GEHÖREN ZUSAMMEN (We Belong Together), embodies the sense of connection that defines her live shows. Current album Licht marks an energetic pop album geared towards hope, lightness and depth of heart.
