Good Charlotte unveil Stepper video ahead of new album Motel Du Cap

Good Charlotte release official Stepper video

Multi-platinum rock band Good Charlotte have dropped the official music video for their new single Stepper. Directed by Erik Rojas, the video sees Benji and Joel Madden as motel maintenance managers while the song’s characters find empowerment in everyday moments. The track was produced by Zakk Cervini and Jordan Fish, with melody and lyrics by Benji and Joel Madden.

Speaking about the single, Benji and Joel Madden said, “Stepper is a song about showing up for life, for yourself, and for the people you love. Getting up every day and trying your best to make it, not just for your dreams but for the dreams you share with the people you love. Celebrate each other and everything you’ve been through together.”

Stepper follows the band’s lead single Rejects, which marked their return last month. Both tracks are featured on Good Charlotte’s forthcoming eighth studio album Motel Du Cap.

The album marks the band’s first studio release in seven years and sees them reunite with original members Paul Thomas (bass) and Billy Martin (guitar, keyboards). Described by the Madden brothers as “Act 2” of their career, Motel Du Cap promises a return to the band’s raw, emotional roots while pushing into more personal territory.

The record’s spark came after an intimate private show at the iconic Hotel du Cap in France in 2023. “It was this wild, once-in-a-lifetime vibe,” Joel recalls. “We were just there to celebrate, no pressure, and it reminded us why we started this—pure, unfiltered connection.” The energy and intimacy of the night shaped the album’s stripped-back, emotionally charged sound. Produced with Zakk Cervini and Jordan Fish, Motel Du Cap is set to blend nostalgic elements with the urgency of a band rediscovering their core purpose.
