Mae Stephens Unleashes Intrusive Thoughts on New Single Tiny Voice

Mae Stephens shares new single Tiny Voice produced by Lostboy

Mae Stephens returns with Tiny Voice, a bold and offbeat pop track that dives headfirst into her most absurd inner monologue. The track is out now via EMI and comes with an official video.

The UK artist, whose breakthrough hit If We Ever Broke Up went Gold in both the UK and US and racked up over 500 million global streams, pairs her signature humour with infectious songwriting and glitchy production on this new single.

Tiny Voice offers a tongue-in-cheek take on impulsive behaviour, with lyrics that explore random and often chaotic thoughts — from drawing on public bathroom walls to chewing on chemistry sets. Mae Stephens said, “‘Tiny Voice’ is a fun, tongue-in-cheek exploration of the random thoughts that can pop into my brain. The song’s message is to show that everyone has these thoughts. Whilst they may help us cope with different pressures, sometimes the fun has to end as it can be detrimental to listen to every thought and you need to tell it to shut up.”

The track was co-written by Pablo Bowman (Anne-Marie, Louis Tomlinson) and produced by Grammy winner Lostboy (Sabrina Carpenter, Calvin Harris). From its five-second bass hook to its viral-ready chorus, the track continues Mae Stephens’ knack for pop earworms that blend relatability with wit.

Following the success of If We Ever Broke Up, Stephens has collaborated with Meghan Trainor, The Chainsmokers and Alok, and supported global stars such as BLACKPINK, P!NK and Tom Grennan.

Earlier this year, she shared Woah Man!, an empowering anthem championing female resilience.
