Maya Lane shares intimate new single I Don’t Know You Yet

Maya Lane returns with I Don’t Know You Yet and confirms new EP The Hurt And The Healing

Rising pop-country artist Maya Lane has released her new single I Don’t Know You Yet, a diaristic slow-burner taken from her third EP The Hurt And The Healing, which lands on Wednesday 4 September 2025.

Following standout appearances at BST Hyde Park, C2C Festival and a support slot with Noah Kahan, Maya Lane continues to earn acclaim for her storytelling style and genre-blending approach. Her latest track was written with Henry Tucker (Anne-Marie, Caity Baser) and Louis Fulford-Smith, and produced by Jonathan Quarmby (Lewis Capaldi, Mahalia).

“I Don’t Know You Yet is the age-old tale of imagining you love someone before you actually know them,” said Lane. “Whether this be convincing yourself you have fallen for someone when in reality you have fallen for the version of them in your head, or dreaming up the ‘perfect’ person altogether. I think a lot of people can relate to the feeling of will I ever meet the right person? Instead of focusing on enjoying life’s journey and our current phase of life.   ‘Don’t Know You Yet’ acts as yearning lullaby for this.”

The Hurt And The Healing follows 2023’s Diary Of An Overthinker and her 2022 debut Childish Games.  In addition to the new single, it also features three of her recent tracks: the bright American sound of ‘Beyond Alaska’, the tender folk of ‘Never Be Enough’, and the bittersweet pop bounce of ‘Bitter’. Collectively the EP sees Maya put her own spin on classic and contemporary influences such as Fleetwood Mac, Kacey Musgraves, HAIM and Joni Mitchell.

Speaking about the upcoming EP, Maya Lane said, “‘The Hurt And The Healing’ EP is a collection of songs taking you through the journey from the hurt to the healing. The EP touches on my personal experiences of friendships and relationships (‘Nice Guy’, ‘Bitter’), feelings of inadequacy (‘Never Be Enough’) and finally acceptance (‘Gently’, ‘Beyond Alaska’).”
