SKEGSS to headline a Manchester gig at Manchester Academy 2

SKEGSS will headline a Manchester gig at Manchester Academy 2 as part of their upcoming UK tour.

The Australian trio have built a reputation for delivering high-energy, no-nonsense garage rock, and their latest single So Excited continues that momentum.

Following a successful run at Australia’s Laneway Festival and a five-week North American tour, the band will hit the UK in April. Fans in Manchester can expect a raw and unfiltered live show packed with anthemic choruses, driving guitars, and the band’s signature laid-back charm.

SKEGSS recently dropped their new single So Excited, which frontman Ben Reed says came together organically: “This song came together real quick in the studio… the whole thing felt like a nice impulse that we rode.” The track captures the band’s freewheeling energy and offers a feel-good anthem for fans to sing along to.

Accompanying the single is a video directed by Kale Neville, which was put together at the last minute but turned out to be a perfect fit. “The video clip also came together really last minute,” Reed explains. “Kale did a great job of making sense of the lyrics and vision and bringing it to a nice light. It was such a fun day making it.”

The band’s upcoming album, Pacific Highway Music, follows their chart-topping 2021 release Rehearsal. The new record promises to blend their signature surf-punk energy with introspective songwriting. “Instead of making things complicated, let’s all agree to disagree more and enjoy the same things we all like as people,” says Reed.
